Elon Musk may turn Twitter into ‘Everything App’

The renowned social media application, Twitter, is one of the most highly used apps around the world. Elon Musk claims to have “amazing” ideas for Twitter and wants to turn it into everything app.

Musk has spoken of his objective to develop it into a super app, which aims to offer users a wide range of products and services and many of the services are not related to each other.

The term “super app” was first subjected to WeChat, which is owned by Chinese tech giant Tencent and has a variety of uses, making it popular throughout China. According to an earlier Forbes story, WeChat and other affiliated mini-apps “connect every facet of life in China,” from “hailing a cab, buying groceries, booking a doctor’s appointment, and purchasing insurance.”

Other examples of super apps include Grab in Southeast Asia, which began as a taxi-hailing app and has since expanded its services to provide transportation, food delivery, and financial services, and Alipay, a payment system owned by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba that offers a variety of services such as retail, bookings, utility bill payments, and more.

Mr Musk told Twitter staff earlier this year: “Think of it like WeChat in China, which is great now, but there’s no WeChat equivalent outside of China. There’s a real opportunity to create that.” “You basically live on WeChat in China because it’s so helpful, so useful to daily life. I think if we achieve that or come even close to that with Twitter, that would be a success”, He added.

“We continue to believe Musk saw the writing on the wall and knew his chances of a victory in Delaware were slim to none with the best path accepting the current deal and move forward,” an analyst at investment firm Wedbush, Dan Ives said.

Elon Musk had been trying to back out of a deal to buy the social media company claiming that Twitter management’s figures for the number of fake accounts and “bots” on the social network were ambiguously low, but on Tuesday he announced a surprise reversal, saying he would buy the company for $54.20 per share. As Twitter pressed him to complete the takeover, he was facing a court battle.

On Tuesday, Musk gave no detail about the outlook of the app he wants to create but when one user suggested that creating X as a separate entity from scratch would be easier, Musk responded that taking over Twitter “accelerates” his plans to create X “by three to five years.”

Text messages between Mr Musk, his friends, and advisers revealed as part of his legal battle with Twitter revealed some of his thoughts on social media.

In one note to his brother, Kimbal, Mr Musk said: “I have an idea for a blockchain social media system that does both payments and short texts/links like Twitter. You have to pay a tiny amount to register your message on the chain, which will cut out the vast majority of spam and bots.”

Twitter has stated that it intends to proceed with the sale to Mr Musk. Twitter shares increased by 21% after the deal was redeemed. Tesla, his electric car company, saw its stock rise by 2%.

According to CNN experts, Elon Musk’s plan for a super app may be difficult to achieve. For one thing, several other social media apps, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, are constantly competing to become super apps. Experts told the outlet that anti-monopoly regulations and policymakers’ opposition could be additional barriers.

iPhone 6 added to the vintage products list by Apple

The iPhone 6 and 6s have been added by Apple to its list of obsolete and vintage products. In certain regions of the world, the technology will be seen as vintage, while in others, it will be deemed obsolete. The iPhone SE has also been included in Apple’s list of retro goods.

Products that haven’t been manufactured in more than five and fewer than seven years are on the list of vintage and obsolete products. Vintage products may not function properly with recent hardware and software versions since they are no longer receiving operating system updates.

Products that haven’t been produced for more than seven years are considered obsolete. Apple no longer formally offers parts and services for these outdated models.

It is not surprising that the iPhone 6 has been added to the list of obsolete and vintage devices since the gadget will soon be five years old.

The original releases of the iPhone 6 and 6s took place in 2014 and 2015, respectively. The iPhone 6 was first introduced in 2014, and the iPhone 6S followed it in 2015. The iPhone 6’s larger 4.7-inch display and stylish design helped it become one of the most well-liked iPhones ever produced. Since then, Apple has unveiled two additional versions of the iPhone, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 8, both of which have internal upgrades but share much of the same external styling as the iPhone 6.

As of October 31, 2020, they will be regarded as vintage in the US, Canada, China, Hong Kong, and Macau. By October 31, 2021, the gadgets will no longer be regarded as being in use in the rest of the world.

Apple will no longer offer support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s as a result of the devices being added to the list of “vintage products.” Additionally, the corporation would stop offering spare parts or maintenance for the gadgets.

If you have an iPhone 6 or 6s, you should back it up and get ready for it to become obsolete and you can still use it every day, but you won’t be able to benefit from any future software updates or new features from Apple. Finding a third-party service provider is necessary if you need your iPhone 6 repaired because Apple no longer offers parts or repairs for the model. The iPhone 6S Plus will be supported with software until September 2023.

Other products have been added to Apple’s list of vintage and obsolete goods in addition to the iPhone 6. The iPad 4 and the iPod Touch (5th generation) have also been added to the list by the business and the iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, Mac Pro, iPad, iPad Pro, iPad mini, iPod touch are also some additional products added to this list.

The iPhone SE has most recently been included on Apple’s list of vintage and obsolete items, according to other news. The iPhone 7 replaced the iPhone SE after its first 2016 release. Although the reason for Apple’s decision to designate the iPhone SE as one of its vintage items is unknown, it is probably because the company no longer makes or sells the handset. The first iPhone, the iPhone 3G, the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5C, and the iPhone 5S are also included in the list.

Nobel Prize in Physics

Three scientists share the Nobel Prize in Physics for “Quantum Information”

Three scientists shared this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics in appreciation of their work in the area of quantum information science, that has significant implications such as in the field of encryption. The experiments of Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser, and Anton Zeilinger were honored for their broad implications for quantum computing and secure information transmission.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences recognized Frenchman Alain Aspect, American John F. Clauser, and Austrian Anton Zeilinger for their work in figuring out how invisible particles like photons or minute pieces of matter can be connected to one another despite being separated by great distances.

Although physicists frequently work on issues that at first look seem to have nothing to do with everyday life, such as minuscule particles and the enormous complexities of space and time, their research offers the foundation for numerous practical applications of science.

The work of the laureates relies on that of John Stewart Bell, a physicist who worked in the 1960s to determine whether particles could continue to operate together in concert even after they had separated too far for regular communication to occur, a phenomenon known as quantum entanglement.

The three laureates conducted studies independently that contributed to clarifying a key assumption concerning quantum entanglement. This claim pertains to the behavior of microscopic particles, such as electrons, that have connected in the past and then separated.

Nobel committee member Eva Olsson observed that the discipline of quantum information science is thriving and expanding quickly. It might impact a variety of industries, including as sensor technology, secure information transport, and quantum computing.

Last year the prize was given to Syukuro Manabe, Klaus Hasselmann, and Giorgio Parisi for their contributions to the explanation and forecasting of complex natural phenomena, which have improved our climate change understanding.

Svante Paabo, a Swedish scientist, received the Nobel Prize in medicine on Monday as part of a series of announcements regarding the award. Paabo found hidden information in Neanderthal DNA that was crucial to comprehending our immune system.

The Nobel Prize organization will also broadcast each award announcement live. The award ceremonies for the prizes will take place in Stockholm in December. The cash awards for the awards total 10 million Swedish kronor, or roughly $900,000. They will be distributed on December 10. The funds originate from a bequest made by Alfred Nobel, a Swedish inventor who founded the award.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences annually bestows the Nobel Prize in Physics on the physicists who have made the greatest contributions to humanity. It is one of the five Nobel Prizes in Chemistry, Literature, Peace, and Medicine that Alfred Nobel created in his will and which have been given out annually since 1901.

The first prize in the Nobel Prize presentation is often given for physics. A total of three Nobel laureates and two distinct works may be chosen to receive the Physics Nobel Prize. The Physics Nobel Prize nomination and screening process are extensive and thorough when compared to other Nobel Prizes.

This is a major factor in why it has gained significance throughout time and now holds the title of most significant prize in physics. Wilhelm Röntgen, a German physicist, received the first Nobel Prize in Physics in honor of the exceptional contributions he provided through the discovery of X-rays. The Nobel Foundation oversees the administration of this prize, which is usually regarded as the highest honor in the field of physics.

5G service

Reliance Jio to Bring 5G services to Every Indian by December 2023

The largest telecom company in the country, Reliance Jio, has said that by December 2023, it will offer ultra-high-speed internet connectivity to the whole of India. Recently, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani stated that while India may have delayed in introducing 5G services, it will lead the way by spreading out the 5G service nationwide. At the India Mobile Congress (IMC) meeting, he stated:

“Today, I want to reiterate Jio’s commitment to deliver 5G to every town, every taluka, and every tehsil of our country by December 2023.”

At the annual shareholder meeting of his company, Reliance Industries Ltd., Ambani stated that by Diwali, 5G services would be available in Delhi, Bombay, Kolkata, and Chennai. He added that since the majority of Jio’s 5G was built in India, it bears the seal of “Atmanirbhar Bharat,” and that 5G and 5G networks’ digital solutions can make access to high-quality, reasonably priced skills and education development possible for ordinary India

He stated that 5G can deliver high-quality healthcare to rural and isolated places by transforming current healthcare facilities into smart hospitals without requiring a large additional investment. It will make the best doctors’ services digitally accessible anywhere in India, enhancing the speed and accuracy of diagnostics, and enabling real-time clinical decision-making.

By increasing the digitization and smart data management of the agriculture, industry, trade, informal, services sector, transport, and power infrastructure, he claimed that 5G can also close the gap between rural and urban India.

Speaking at the event, Ambani asserted that by leveraging demographic trends and digital technologies, India can become the top digital society in the world, fulfilling the twin objectives of speeding growth and promoting inclusive development. Through this by 2047, India’s GDP would grow to $40 trillion from its current $3 trillion value, and its per capita income would rise quickly to over $20,000 from its current $2,000 value.

Ambani also that 5G is far more than simply the next level of communication technology. 5G offers foundational tech that opens the maximum potential of other revolutionary technologies including artificial intelligence, the IoT, robotics, cryptocurrency, and the metaverse.

On October 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally introduced 5G services in India during the 6th India Mobile Congress at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. Fast-speed internet connectivity with low delay is projected to be offered through 5G services, altering the existing data landscape.

5G services will provide high data rates, low latency, and a very reliable communications infrastructure. 5G services will improve energy, spectrum, and network efficiency. Millions of IoT devices will be connected with the help of 5G technology, which will also enable the delivery of vital services and higher-quality mobile video services.

Precision agriculture, real-time disaster monitoring, and reducing human involvement in risky industrial activities like deep mining and offshore work will be made possible by 5G.

To build out its network, Jio is expending over Rs 2 trillion. In the most recent auction, Jio purchased 24,740 MHz of spectrum in a number of bands. In the 5G spectrum auction, Reliance Industries’ Jio came out on top as the biggest spender, securing frequencies worth $11 billion to expand its wireless network throughout the world’s second-largest mobile market i.e India.

Reliance Jio entered the telecom market in September 2016 by giving out free calls and incredibly inexpensive data, compelling the competitors to either catch up or go out of business. With more than 42.62 crore customers, Reliance Jio is the largest network mobile network in India and the world’s third biggest network operator.

TouchID

Apple may not bring TouchID to iPhone 15 or other high-end iPhone models

As per a report by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg Apple won’t be releasing new iPhones with the TouchID feature anytime soon. Gurman revealed that TouchID will not be included on the new iPhone 15 in his most recent Power On newsletter. He also stated that it is doubtful that TouchID will soon return to high-end flagship iPhone models.

Although TouchID was tested on later iPhones by Apple internally, it was not incorporated into the brand’s high-end models. Apple improved security without sacrificing convenience when it released the TouchID feature on the iPhone 5s model nine years ago. Later on, Touch ID was added by Apple to iPads and MacBooks.

Gurman comments in his newsletter,

“Over the past few years, there have been discussions within Apple about bringing Touch ID back to high-end iPhones. The company has tested in-screen Touch ID and even contemplated putting it on the power button. At this point, I believe Face ID is here to stay, and Touch ID won’t be returning to flagship iPhones—at least anytime in the foreseeable future.”

Gurman also speculated that a Touch ID-enabled iPhone SE may still be a possibility. If so, the company’s iPhone lineup will resemble this separation of Face ID and Touch ID. However, it seems Apple will need more time to refine the Touch ID tech before it is available on the newer iPhones. Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, had predicted that Touch ID would make comeback in iPhones in 2025. He attributed the delay to production and development issues.

The report also notes that Apple’s October event is unlikely to happen. Gurman suggests that the anticipated iPad, Apple TV, and Mac product debuts might be publicized with media releases, briefings, and Apple store updates. The Bloomberg report noted that the huge iPhone 14 event in September was probably it for Apple in terms of significant presentations in 2022.

iPhone users would like to see the Touch ID feature return to the iPhone in the future. Facial ID has improved significantly over time, particularly now that it supports face masks and functions in landscape mode too. However, even now, there are scenarios in which adding the Touch ID feature as an alternative would be beneficial. The iPhone’s inclusion of both Touch ID and Face ID has security advantages. For instance, to protect really sensitive information, users can employ both a Touch ID and Face ID authentication.

Apple Inc. built and launched the electronic fingerprint scanner feature known as Touch ID. Users can use it to unlock various iPhone devices, and make purchases from different Apple stores like App Store, Apple Book Store, and iTunes. Using Touch ID users can also verify Apple Pay transactions online or in apps.

On the iPhone and iPad, it can also be utilized to unlock and lock password-protected notes. In 2013, Touch ID made its debut on iPhones with the release of the iPhone 5S. In 2015, a speedier second-generation Touch ID was introduced by Apple in the iPhone 6S. In 2016, the Touch ID feature made its desktop debut in the MacBook Pro.

Each user account on a MacBook can have a maximum of three fingerprints, and a total of five across the system. Since the 2014 release of the iPad Air 2, the Touch ID feature has been on all iPad models. After 2017, all other iPhones since the iPhone X and the more expensive iPad Pro switched to Face ID detection. Apple retained the Touch ID feature on the iPhone 8, second and third-generation iPhone SE, and base model iPads.
