About The Company
Oppo, a Chinese electronics company based in Dongguan, was established in 2001 by Chen Mingyong and has its headquarters there. When it first started out, the company sold high-end Blu-ray players, amplifiers, and headphones, and quickly became well-known. In 2008, it made its first foray into the mobile phone market when it released the Smile Phone, which was available exclusively in China. The Oppo N1, the world’s first phone with a swivel camera, was released in 2014, and the organization entered the Indian phone market with it. Oppo, like OnePlus and Vivo, is a division of BKK Electronics.
Oppo’s smartphone history is littered with advancements in the camera department. The camera module on Oppo N1 is swivel and can rotate 180 degrees. This made it possible for the phone to have a single camera for both the back and the front. Next came the Oppo N3, which had a rotating camera, but was powered by a motor instead of a gearbox like the OnePlus 3. The Oppo F3 Plus was one of the first selfie-focused smartphones to feature dual front cameras. A dual-camera mobile phone was also one of the first things the company launched. Oppo became the first phone manufacturer to use a mechanical pop-up camera module with its Find X smartphone in 2018.
Realme Mobiles, Oppo’s budget, and midrange smartphone subsidiary, was launched despite Oppo’s wide range of smartphone offerings. Later, Realme severed ties with Oppo’s parent company and became a separate mobile phone brand. However, like Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus, it remains a subsidiary of BKK Electronics.
The Oppo Reno 10X Zoom and Oppo Reno were launched in 2019 as part of the company’s Oppo Reno-series announcement. After the Huawei P30 Pro, the Reno 10X Zoom is the second smartphone to apply a periscope telephoto lens having the ability to have as much as 10x hybrid lossless zoom. In addition, the Reno 10x Zoom and Reno were the first smartphones with a sharp fin-shaped pop-up camera module that emerged from the top.
