Oxygen OS 11

Oxygen OS 11 rolling out for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro Smartphone.

On 10th October 2020, OnePlus announced that the company will be rolling out Oxygen OS 11 for OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro in India. The operating system Oxygen 11 is build based on stable Android 11 and this is for the first time the world is witnessing the fastest rollouts of Android 11 for a smartphone. With the launch of Oxygen OS 11 last week, and the scheduled launch of OnePlus 8T on 14th October, we can assume that OnePlus 8T will come with Oxygen OS 11.

In August of this year, the company launched the developer version of the OS followed by launching two open Betas for Oxygen OS 11 in September. Now, the stable version of the OS has been finally released which will also available for OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, and OnePlus Nord in near future. The OS comes with many modified and new features and the company says that while installation the users must make sure the battery is a minimum of 30% in phone and storage of a minimum of 3GB is available.

Oxygen OS Features in the Beta 2 version

The Beta version of the Oxygen OS 11 was released in September and it came with a handful of new features. While releasing the Beta version of this OS, the company made many fixes for system optimization. Some of these fixes included repairing the black screen issue that the users face while clicking on the ‘Tips & Support’. Another major failure in the Beta one version of OS 11 is that it failed to activate Google Assistant in many situations which were fixed in this version. An ambient display feature was added to bring some chic style to your smartphone. This display feature was brand new and it is known as the ‘canvas’ feature which “can automatically draw a wireframe picture based on a lock screen photo on your phone”.

Before releasing the Open Beta 2, the HD icon was not centered on the call log and there were some issues with widgets not responding at times. They were all fixed in the new version. The company also fixed the system stability and optimized the power consumption for the latest 5G connectivity. Now, let’s have a look at the stable version of Oxygen OS 11 that rolled out last week.

OnePlus is a leading smartphone manufacturer in India, with a loyal fan base. The smartphone maker has done well for itself in India, thanks to affordable handsets which boast high-end capabilities. Most of their phones are highly anticipated by the Indian audience, as they always seem to shake things up when it comes to launches. Recently, Roland Quandt, who is a famous industry insider working for WinFuture, released official specifications relating to the OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8 will be the newest flagship from the highly successful Shenzhen-based brand. Here’s a look at everything you need to know about the latest specifications, and why it has made smartphone enthusiasts excited.

Launch Dates and Specifications

The leaked specifications reveal that the new flagship might come with an OLED screen, which is 6.55 inches big. The hyperboloid screen will support FHD+ resolution and can process images at 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is also expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G chipset, which will be available in two different memory categories: 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB. The OnePlus 8 will run on an LPDDR4X RAM and is not expected to have functionalities such as wireless charging and IP rating. The phone will also have a 16MP front camera and a back camera which comes with a triple camera setup, supporting a 48MP primary camera. The OnePlus 8 will be powered by a 4300mAh battery, which luckily for the fans, supports 30W flash charge.

Also, as per the report, the phone will most likely be launched mid-April, and the company will announce the exact launch date by the end of this week. The phone will also be available in three different colour schemes, Onyx Black, Interstellar Glow and Glacial Green.

Visual Display

The leak also came with individual renderings of the expected launches, and the new colours make for an impressive visual display. The most talked about in the new array of colours is undoubtedly the purplish- Interstellar Glow, which honestly looks out of this world. Fans from around the world were quick in heaping praises on the new launches’ look, some even stating that the phone seems ethereal. However, no official report has been released which states whether both the OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8, will have the same colour palette.

Also, reports state that the OnePlus 8 Pro might have a 120Hz refresh rate, making for more in-depth and vibrant images. These reports also indicate that the new flagship’s pro version will have a larger screen size, with several experts touting it to as high as 6.78 inches. The Pro is also expected to run on an LPDDR5 RAM, and support a quadruple-camera setup. Furthermore, it will have an IP68 rating, which makes it both water and dust resistant. Also, the phone will run on a 4,510mAh battery, which to supports 30W wireless charging. Furthermore, the phone will also support reverse wireless charging for up to 3 Watts. Both phones will most likely run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 5G chip.

Both WinFuture and Ishan Agarwal have released these new colour variations and specs this morning. As no further updates have come from OnePlus themselves, these new renderings are the closest we will get to see what the new launches will look like. Furthermore, the company has not yet confirmed a release date or pricing for both these flagship phones. Much talked about has been the never-before-seen option of colour called the Interstellar Glow. This new shade is expected to shift its look depending on ambient light and surrounding natural light. Fans have begun to compare this new feature to Samsung’s Aura Glow functionality, which first came out through the Note 10. This unique shade will have the ability to shift between purple, red and orange hues with a matte finish. However, reports have also come out stating that this look might not be available on the OnePlus 8 Pro, though. The Onyx Black shade looks very glossy, whereas Glacial green appears to have a more matte finish. With more reports being expected to come in by April 15th, fans around the world are waiting for confirmation regarding their dream smartphone.

Oneplus, A Company To Outweigh All Its Competitors In Six Years

Well, I admit there is a particular group of people who drools over the products of Apple but did you guys not see how strategically OnePlus became the premium mobile brand around the world. Leaving iOS aside, OnePlus to date has become the best mobile company with Android OS because the founders wanted to improve the existing user experience cost-effectively.

Before OnePlus was launched in 2013, Samsung and Nokia mobiles ruled in the world of Android OS smartphones. But, brands like these faced an unexpected downfall when OnePlus started setting the market on fire with its alluring flagship products.OnePlus was launched in 16th December 2013 by Pete Lau and Carl Pei. The company is based on China and currently, its annual revenue is $1.9 billion.

Pete Lau

Lau passed out from Zhejiang University in 1998 and joined Oppo Electronics. He worked there as a hardware engineer and with time became the director of Oppo’s Blu-ray division. Attaining the peak of his career just started with his promotion to the position of head of marketing of Oppo. Lau was soon named as the Vice President of the company and he was solely responsible for incorporating Android OS in Oppo smartphones. He stepped down from his position and quit Oppo in November 2013.

Carl Pei

Pei went to Stockholm School of Economics to pursue his Bachelor’s degree in Science but he dropped out soon and started working in the smartphone industry. Before he dropped out of college, he started working at Nokia and continued for three months. In 2011, Pei joined Meizu and worked there as a full-time employee. After a year, Pei joined Oppo in 2012 and started working there as an international market manager. Pei worked under Lau and both of them together came up with the idea of OnePlus.

A café conversation

The idea of OnePlus exclusively and solely came out of a coffee table conversation while discussing smartphones and how the user experience can be made better. The founders noticed that most of the population tends to use the iPhone and not Android. The question was why? Aftermarket research and recording the feedbacks of users, they concluded that most of them either have faulty software or the quality is not up to the mark. So, both of them started their new start-up and at the beginning OnePlus only had five employees.

Launch and Success

When the two of them were working on their new project of OnePlus, their main motive was to build a product with a minimal amount of cost and which can provide the best user experience. When they were ready with the product, the strategy of launching was very off-track. They didn’t want to sell the product through conventional retailers and pursued the audience in an only way.

The marketing experts said that the idea might face a strict downfall as the model was based on high priced subscription method. But, the prediction was proved wrong when OnePlus breaking the records of every successful mobile company ever sold 1.5 million OnePlus smartphones in a single year.

The product became famous as the “Flagship killer” and the magnitude of success was enormous. Lau expected 50,000 units sell and it crossed millions. The first product was OnePlus One and it was first marketed outside China in 2015. OnePlus expanded to South-East Asia after they partnered with Lazada Indonesia.

The next product of OnePlus, OnePlus 2 was released in July 2015. The next year company lifted the invite-only system on OnePlus 3 followed by making it available in the markets of China, North America, the European Union and also in Amazon India.

The company’s profit became thrice in the financial year 2017-2018 and the annual revenue almost increased to five times within a single year. The company’s goal turned out to become a huge success as most of the users rated their smartphones 4 stars or more.

In early 2018, the launch of OnePlus 6 broke into the market like a plague and even outran the market for Apple iPhone. Within the next half of the year, OnePlus 6 became the highest selling flagship product of the company.

India majorly contributes to the success of OnePlus products as Lau (CEO of OnePLus) said in an interview that India is accountable for OnePlus’s 2018s global revenue of $1.4 billion.

New Leaks Gives Out a Lot About the New OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro

The last couple of weeks have been the week of new smartphones and other releases, especially the Apple iPhone 11. Likewise, there are a few more companies that are looking forward to launching their high-end smartphones and other services as well, OnePlus being one at the top of the list. But amid the race of high-end smartphones, the company might be more into providing its users affordable yet feature-rich smartphones.

Though OnePlus is much excited about its upcoming OnePlus TV, before that, the OnePlus fans are up to finding out what the company will be incorporating in the new OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. There have already been some leaks about its features, and again, we have got new updates confirming the previous leaked features as well as defining new ones.

According to the new leaks, the OnePlus 7T will be a 6.5-inch smartphone, having an Optic AMOLED display and a resolution of 2400×1080 as well as will be full HD+. The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. It will render support for 8GB RAM and will offer two variants of the storage capacities, i.e., 128GB and 256GB storage.

The leaks also talk about the camera of the smartphone, that shows that the front camera will remain the 16-megapixel camera, but there will be an upgrade in the rear ones. As the leaks suggest, the main camera will be an 8-megapixel with F1.6 lens, along with a 12-megapixel telephoto camera having a 2x optical zoom as well as another 16-megapixel wide-angle camera. There has also been an upgrade to the battery of the smartphone, as it will be a 3800mAh battery, with a capability of 20 per cent faster charging.

Last year, the company introduced its OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro, among which the Pro version of the smartphone was the main highlight of the launch, as it had got better features than the OnePlus 6 series. But for everyone’s surprise, OnePlus 7 did not come with much of the upgrades, maybe this is the reason why the US did not get the OnePlus 7 in markets.

Well reportedly, the same will happen to the 7T Pro this year, as it is a similar version of the 7 Pro and does not have much of upgrades. Instead, the OnePlus 7T is the one that maybe everyone’s interest at this time, with major changes and upgrades. And, like the previous year, this very smartphone will go on sale in the US markets and 7T Pro may not.

Though 7T Pro is similar to 7 Pro from last year, there are still some upgrades in its camera, battery and the processor. Reportedly, the same, like OnePlus 7T, is also equipped with the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. Also, it will be having an 8GB RAM and will render support for 256GB secondary memory. It will have a similar set of cameras as of the OnePlus 7T, and the battery will be a 4085mAh with Warp Charge 30T.

According to the rumours, both the smartphones are powered by the OnePlus’s home-production OS, i.e. Android 10 based OxygenOS.

Though there has been no confirmation from the company on any of these rumours, these look quite legitimate, if we closely look at the company’s past launches. For now, we just need to wait for the official paper to come out from the company side to completely believe in the leaks.

OnePlus TV

The 55-inch QLED OnePlus TV Coming to India in September

OnePlus has proven its worth with its outstanding range of smartphones, specifically known for its cameras. Now the company is up to releasing the series of its LED TVs, that according to the company will be having a QLED panel. For the past couple of days, the company has been giving information about its new TV in bits, and now it has finally revealed the name of the TV, i.e. OnePlus TV.

The OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, revealed the name of the TV last week. The company had hosted a contest for the name of its new smart TV last year. But it seems that the company went simply with its trade name. There were also a few revelations about the features as well as the release date of the OnePlus TV.

Along with a blog post, the company took it to Twitter to announce the release month for the TV, i.e. September. The company also tweeted about the size of the TV and a few other features as well. Previously, the leaks suggested that the TV will be available in four different sizes, i.e. 43-inches, 55-inches, 65-inches, and 75-inches. And according to one of the tweets from OnePlus, the TV that the company will be releasing in India will be a 55 inches, that too with a QLED screen. The U.S. and China will be receiving the biggest edition of the TV, i.e. the 75 inches panel TV.

QLED display seems to be like the OLED display but is quite different from the latter. Q-LED stands for quantum-dot light-emitting diode. Basically, in OLED, every pixel emits their own light, whereas, QLED still works on the backlighting. QLED TVs have been the most significant part of the Samsung TV series, and now, we will see how the OnePlus TVs perform in the market for the company. The rumours also suggest that the TV may have 4K as well as 8K resolution with HDR.

For the sale of the TV, the company has partnered with Amazon and has included a ‘Notify Me’ button on Amazon’s OnePlus TV page. So the users need to login and click on the button, to stay updated with the new updates about the TV.

The TV will also render support for Bluetooth 5.0, and the company claims that the users will get the “unique Android TV experience” with the new OnePlus TV. Since there is a mention about Android, the smart TV from OnePlus may run on the Android Pie and include some of the Android apps in it. It is also expected that the TV may support a 3GB RAM.

“I am confident that there are many things that you can expect from OnePlus TV. Image and sound quality are fundamental that we must get right. Alongside these key essentials, I believe the TV’s remarkable design and smart interconnectivity make this product even more exciting,” Lau said.
