Motorola Edge 30 With Snapdragon 778+ 5G Has Been Introduced In India, With Prices Starting At Rs 27,999.
The new Motorola Edge 30 is the latest addition to Motorola’s ‘Edge’ smartphone series. On Thursday, May 12, it was released in India. The new smartphone arrives just weeks after the release of the Moto G52 and the low-cost Moto G22. The Motorola Edge 20 was released last year as a cut-out version of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro. The Motorola Edge 30 is part of the latest mid-range company, which includes phones from OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung Realme, and others. The Motorola Edge 30 will compete with the Samsung M53, Vivo T1 Pro 5G, IQOO z6, and many other devices with comparable specifications. So, let’s take a look at the Motorola Edge 30’s pricing and features.
Specifications and Features
The Motorola Edge 30 is being marketed as the thinnest phone available. Aside from its slim design, the Motorola Edge 30 has a slew of capabilities, including the India-first Snapdragon 778+ 5G, an OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, 50-megapixel quad technology, and a 4020mAh battery with 33W rapid charging capability.
The rear of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro is comprised of acrylic glass or polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). It has a silky matte finish. The sides are composed of plastic, and the front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. According to Motorola, the Edge 30 is water-resistant (IP52).
The phone is only 6.79mm thick and weighs 155g, making it one of, if not the, slimmest on the market at the time of writing.
The Edge 30 has the same 6.5-inch pOLED display as the Moto G52. The pOLED is supposed to provide an OLED-like viewing experience while being thinner than existing OLED screens. In addition, the display offers a Full-HD+ resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels), HDR10+ compatibility, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with macro vision, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor in its back camera module. The two 50-megapixel sensors can capture 4K films at 30 frames per second, while the front-facing 32-megapixel camera can likewise record 4K videos.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus processor is combined with up to 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB storage. This cannot be expanded. Motorola’s custom My UX chops are on top of Android 12. Motorola has stated that the phone would receive two major OS updates (Android 13 and 14) as well as up to three years of security fixes.
You also get Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers, compatibility for thirteen 5G bands, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. Other notable features include side-unlocking, a charger in the box, 13 5G bands, Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual-SIM support. Customers with HDFC Bank credit cards can get a Rs 2,000 instant discount, effectively lowering the price to Rs 25,999 and 27,999, respectively. The Motorola Edge 30 will be online and in leading retail locations on May 19 at noon in two colour variants: Meteor grey and Aurora green.
