What to Expect from Xbox in 2023?

As the current-generation consoles join their third year, no system appears to be ready to take off such as the Xbox Series X in 2023. Microsoft’s device has had a somewhat quiet two years as the firm has kept a few of its largest future releases under wraps, with delays attempting to push its lineup into 2023.

However, it appears that Microsoft is convinced of its outcome this year, and there is a lot to look forward to for Xbox Series X owners.

A variety of exclusive games

Numerous elite Xbox titles scheduled for 2022 were postponed to next year, implying that we’ll have a plethora of options for games in 2023.

Forza Motorsport was declared approximately three years earlier in 2020, but it appears that the game could very well finally be released next year. Turn 10 Studios appears to be putting a great focus on visuals; real-time ray tracing, as well as dynamic time-of-day climate, will be available to provide a more interactive experience, and the Series X console should indeed be pushed to its limits.

However, one of the most notable games to be launched next year is Starfield, initially scheduled for release in 2022, the game was pushed to the start of 2023. This game appears to be a huge sci-fi excursion, complete with large numbers of intriguing planets, a sophisticated storyline, and a plethora of ways to defeat your enemies.

Other Xbox launches new releases that will be available after this year also Include Ark II, Last Case of Benedict Fox, Replaced, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, as well as Redfall, making sure that Xbox operators will have a plethora of new game alternatives to choose from.

An upgrade to the Xbox Series X/S

Many unconfirmed reports have circulated that Microsoft is presently collaborating on an Xbox Series X as well as a Series S update, possibly to compete with the speculated PS5 Slim, which could also be released next year.

The story was first reported by the Polish outlet PPE, which claims that Chinese electronics manufacturer TCL has discovered an updated Xbox console that will allegedly facilitate 8K and 120Hz capabilities.

It’s important to keep in mind that Microsoft has yet to clarify this, and the forthcoming console may be delayed even further, to 2024 or even beyond. However, the idea of Xbox releasing an update is consistent with the firm’s history, as the Xbox One X console was launched a few years after the initial Xbox One S.

Although 2023 may be a little early for an updated Xbox console, we would still not rule it out, even if it’s just a small design refresh instead of a hardware upgrade.

New Day One Release games on Game Pass

It’s impossible to discuss Xbox without referencing Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft has already clarified that Day One Release games will be available on both Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass by January 2023 as an aspect of the Xbox Game Preview Program.

Day One Release, as the name implies, indicates that games will be accessible in the Game Pass catalog on the day they are released, making it even simpler for enthusiasts to grab the most recent releases.

While Xbox launch titles are assured to reach on Game Pass on release day, the platform has seen a few surprising third-party releases. We anticipate a similar outcome in 2023.

Preview Program by Xbox Games appears to be a Microsoft comparable of Stream’s Early Access. Some games on Game Pass are accessible and can be played before they are fully released, but it appears that Xbox will allow fans to try out games in the initial stages making Disney Dreamlight Valley the latest recent example.

The launch of the Xbox Game Pass Streaming Stick

Discussing Xbox Game Pass, 2023 might be the year we see the much-anticipated Xbox Game Pass Streaming Stick. Keystone is a device the size of the dongle that will be able to stream Xbox games from the cloud.

An Xbox Streaming Stick is intriguing for a wide range of reasons, one of which is that it has the potential to bridge the gap in gaming where you require the newest devices to utilize the latest games.

While the excitement of opening a brand-new next-generation console will presumably never be matched, the ability to bring a small streaming stick along will provide access to gaming on the go, saving some consumers the pressure of trying to purchase the recent console as soon as it is released.

Phil Spencer stated recently that the release of a streaming stick could be “years away,” so 2023 may be too soon. We’re hoping that’s not the case because a streaming stick feels right for Game Pass and could be just what some folks require to get back into playing games without breaking the bank.

If the streaming stick does not materialize, we hope that the streaming platform will be made available on more TVs.

Playstation 5

Playstation 5 is the New Console from Sony Coming in 2020 Holidays

Keeping the legacy, Sony has followed the tradition and has announced that its “next-generation console” will be called the PlayStation 5. The company also accepted that it would be simple for the users to call it a PS5. Though in April Sony had revealed that it is looking forward to selecting a fancy name for the console, it seems that there is nothing that would better suit it than being called PlayStation 5.

Along with the new name, the company has also revealed some details about its new and upgraded controller, which possibly will be called Dualshock 5. The new controller has been incorporated with new haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The haptic feedback is a replacement for Sony’s rumble technology, which has been there in every console from the fifth generation consoles of the PlayStation.

With the new haptic feedback, the upgraded console will offer a “broader range of feedback.” The new update will make you feel different things in different ways, like the company said in its blog, the crashing on the wall and making a tackle on the football field will feel much different from each other. The upgrade will also make you feel the various textures when running through in the game while playing.

On the other hand, the adaptive triggers will be installed in the primary R2/L2 triggers on the PS5’s controller. The new adaptive triggers are programmable ones, such that the developers can “program the resistance of the triggers.” As the name suggests, the controller will adapt to the scenarios in the game, and the players will get to feel the resistance and the increased tension in their hands through the controller. The company has already sent the early versions of the new controller to the creators so that they can make use of its features for the development of new games.

Sony said in the blog post that when the two features will work together the player will get a beyond realistic experience. The company did not confirm the name of the controller, but as it has given the latest version of the console a similar name, i.e. PlayStation 5, there is a possibility that the new controller will be called the Dualshock 5 as well. Other than these updates, the company has revealed that it will be launching the new PlayStation in the holidays season of the next year. So there is almost a year in between the launch of the new console. And meanwhile, the company will be making frequent about the new features of the console before the launch.

Microsoft Reveals its Xbox Scarlett Project at the Briefing Prior to E3 2019

One day to go for the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2019, and Microsoft has already given some hints on the products, it is going to showcase at the event, especially, its latest Xbox console. This time one of its biggest rivals, Sony, is not even appearing at the event, which has made the company even more excited. But Sony is not the only rival for the company this time, and Google‘s Stadia is also here to give Microsoft a great competition.

This year’s E3 event is quite special for the company as it will be introducing a next-generation Xbox video game console by the codename, Project Scarlett, at the event. The game is forty times better at performance than its previous versions and has been developed by the same team which developed Xbox One.

This new Xbox machine possesses newly developed custom Zen 2-based processor CPU and will have real-time ray tracing for more genuine graphics. The machine will render the variable refresh rates as high as 120 frames per second. It is also incorporated with GDDR6 memory as well as GPU (Navi graphics processing unit) from Advanced Micro Devices. There will also be an SSD in the machine that will reduce the screen loading time.

Since the company has brought the cloud to the gaming, Scarlett will provide the support for multiplayer gaming through streaming and will also support the other gaming platforms. Also, it will continue to support thousands of Xbox games from previous generations through the cloud.

During the briefing prior to E3 event, Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s Xbox, said, “Project Scarlett is the foundation of our future in consoles and the formation of our future in the cloud. Consoles should be designed, built and optimised for one thing and one thing only: gaming.”

According to Microsoft, the company will be launching the new Scarlett Xbox during the holidays of 2020.

Along with Scarlett, Microsoft’s streaming service has also been much awaited. The company has revealed that it will release the streaming service in coming October. The streaming service will allow the players to connect their consoles to the Xbox Cloud and explore thousands of games through it. The console can be connected to the Xbox Cloud from any place and through any internet connection.

At its two hours conference, Microsoft also announced 60 new games, among which 14 are from its own Xbox Studio team.

The Disc-less Xbox One S All-Digital Edition to be Available for Preorders from Mid-April

The rumours of Xbox launching the disc-less console were already making rounds, starting from November last year. Apparently, the company has also confirmed the news that it is planning to launch a new Xbox One S without a disc drive in the coming month.

It is expected that the console may be cheaper than its predecessors, as the company is removing the expensive Blu-ray drive from the console. The console will rely on the digital downloads and Microsoft’s services like Game Pass.

Microsoft had launched the game pass service in 2017, and if go with the company claims, it has registered millions of users for the same in the past two years. The monthly plan for the game pass costs a $9.99, under which the users get access to 100 different games, including Rocket League, the Halo series and Gears of War 4, etc.

Allegedly, Microsoft will also provide options to the users to have pre-installed games on the console. Even the buyers can choose on which games they want to have on their consoles.

In recent times, the company has been publishing all the new games digitally. Even the popular game Fornite has never been released physically. So the disc-less console maybe another lead to the digitization of the gaming industry.

As there are already speculations, that the new console will be cheaper, the cost of the console is estimated between $200 and $250. It is also expected that the Xbox One S may have a greater emphasis on Microsoft’s xCloud streaming service.

According to a report from Windows, Central reports, Microsoft’s All-Digital Edition Xbox One S will be available for preorders, starting from mid-April and will be launched widely to be available for purchases in the stores from the month of May, before Microsoft’s upcoming E3 show takes place in June.

The new console may prove to be a milestone for Microsoft, as Microsoft will be the first company to launch a non-physical media home console.

Microsoft Expanding Xbox Live To Switch, iOS & Android

According to a GDC listing, Microsoft is planning to expand the Xbox live support to cross platforms. The home video game console Xbox plays ones of the most popular games in the world, and Microsoft has decided to develop a Software Development Kit (SDK) that can be integrated to different platforms, like iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch beside Xbox and PC.

The company is planning to announce the news and the details about the new SDK in the upcoming 2019 Game Developers Conference (GDC). The Game Developers Conference is the yearly convention for the game developers where they showcase their ideas and new gaming products. This year the event will be held in San Francisco in March.

“Xbox Live is expanding from 400 million gaming devices and a reach to over 68 million active players to over 2 billion devices with the release of our new cross-platform XDK,” says the GDC listing. At the event, Microsoft will be hosting a panel titled, “Xbox Live: Growing & Engaging Your Gaming Community Across Platforms.”

Microsoft has already made a few of its Xbox Live Achievements available on a few of the iOS and Android devices. But the new SDK will integrate Xbox Live achievements, friends, clubs and game history into non-Xbox and Windows PC platforms for the first time. The company will also be employing its PlayFab suite containing its backend tools as a part of this package.

“Xbox Live players are highly engaged and active on Xbox and PC, but now they can take their gaming achievement history, their friends list, their clubs, and more with them to almost every screen,” said Microsoft on its GDC conference schedule page.

This is an effort from Microsoft to break down longstanding barriers in the gaming industry, by building a cross-platform gaming service, that will enable the developers to get their users onto different platforms, such that they can be active on the Xbox games, without actually using the Xbox console.

Nintendo : From a Small Card Company to World’s Largest Video Game Maker

There might merely be a person, who has not heard of Mario. The magical mission game that engaged every single child with entertainment and amusement was not just famous among the children, but, was also the first choice of every teenager, and adult. It is also one of the best-selling video games in history.

Everybody is familiar with this amazing video game, but not every person would have heard of the name of the company that produced it. Nintendo is a name that started with the production of playing cards and ended up in becoming one of the biggest producers of video games in the world. Nintendo not only have Mario to its credits but have introduced multiple entertaining games and gaming consoles to the world.

Nintendo a Playing Card Company

Nintendo was founded by a Japanese entrepreneur, Fusajiro Yamauchi, as a playing card company in Kyoto, Japan, on 23 September 1889. At the time, the foreign card games were banned in Japan, and not from twenty or thirty years, but since 1633, almost 250 years. Many people had tried making different card games, but eventually, all of them were banned too.

Meanwhile, a playing card game Hanafuda was developed. The game was played with handmade cards, which instead of numbers had illustrations on it. The game escaped the ban and became popular in no time. Nintendo started making good profits with the production of those cards, and Yamauchi had to employ assistants to lower down the workload.

In 1949, the company was renamed as Nintendo Karuta Co., Ltd., and started operating outside Japan, as The Nintendo Playing Card Co. By the time, Yamauchi’s grandson had also joined the company, and in 1956, he flew to the USA, to expand the business overseas. He found out that the playing card market in the USA had quite limited potential, so he decided to take advantage of this opportunity and got the license from Disney, to print Disney cartoon characters on the playing cards.

Till 1963, the company had experimented with various other businesses as well, including taxi service, a love hotel chain, a TV network, a food company, etc. At the same time, the playing card game was also facing a drop in its popularity.

In 1966, the company entered into the toy business and with the help of maintenance engineer of the company, Gunpei Yokoi, developed the Ultra Hand, an extendable toy arm. The company produced many other toys, but it was taking a little longer for Nintendo to establish itself as one of the leading toy maker company.

In 1973, the company started developing family entertainment venues with the Laser Clay Shooting System, in which the participants used a light gun for shooting. The idea was a hit, but the company had to shut it down soon, maintaining it was way too expensive.

Success in Video Games

In 1974, Nintendo managed to get the rights to distribute the commercial home video game console, Magnavox Odyssey, in Japan. By 1977, the company started the manufacturing of Color TV-Game home video game consoles. It also produced arcade games with EVR Race.

In 1981, with the release of Donkey Kong, Nintendo experienced real success. The next release from Nintendo was a handheld video game, that was also an immediate hit.

In 1985, Nintendo launched a platform video game named the Super Mario Bros., a successor to the 1983 arcade game, Mario Bros., for the Famicom, and in North America and Europe for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Along with Super Mario Bros., Nintendo holds the credit of many other famous games including NES, Game Boy, SNES, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Advance SP.

In 1995, Nintendo announced that it had sold one billion game cartridges worldwide. At the same time, Nintendo bought 25% shares in another video game development company Rare and developed a CGI game through this partnership. The game was an instant success and became the second best-selling game in the SNES library.

Next big release from Nintendo was the Nintendo DS and Wii, between which, the Wii console became the best seller and was released in 2006. Among the handheld video games, the Nintendo DS Lite is the best-selling handheld console of all time.
