The World’s First Flying Bike launches in the USA, and people are in awe of the bike.

Motorcyclists always want something new and odd when it comes to innovation. Flying bike seemed a very long shot. Car drivers just get excited by getting cup holders and iPod docs but motorcycle riders want something unique that focuses on making the bike and biking even more enjoyable, faster, and safer.

In the timeframe between the ’90s and 2000s when we were growing up the future of motorcycles or cars was portrayed with flying cars, bikes, and pods. Many people told of having flying cars by 2020 just like the science fiction movies depicted.

But due to the severe changes in climate and awareness about it was increasing and vehicular pollution was at its top the standard of future mobility deflected from flying vehicles to electric and clean mobility.

With these changes over the past years, one thing was evident if the major part of the R&D budget was going to move to make the whole mobility sector electric then there were not enough resources remaining to venture into the flying personal mobility space.

The flying bike and cars gave the impression of being a dream too far from the near future but some companies did not stop or get demotivated by the various reasons floating around and kept working to make this vision true. One such enterprise is a Japanese startup, AERWINS Technologies. They have built a flying bike or a human flying cluster of drones known as XTURISMO hoverbike.

Aerwins Technologies XTURISMO hoverbike was launched last week on Thursday, 15 September 2022, in Motown at the Detroit Auto Show 2022 which was held for the first time since the people were hit by the pandemic. The XTURISMO hoverbike can fly for about forty minutes and achieve a speed of 100 km per hour (62 miles per hour).

The bike appeared similar to the bikes we have seen in the “Star War”. After this bike was unveiled, many people called it “the future of urban mobility”. You may not know but this same flying bike was first displayed during an Auto Show held in Japan last year in October.

The video of this Star Wars look-alike flying bike was widespread on the internet on social media platforms like Twitter. The people were indeed astonished after seeing it land after a flight.

Thad Szott, co-chair of the auto show is heard saying in the video, “I feel like I’m literally 15 years old and I just got out of ‘Star Wars’ and jumped on their bike.” “I mean, it’s awesome! Of course, you have a little apprehension, but I was just so amped. I literally had goosebumps and feel like a little kid.”

How does the XTURISMO hoverbike Work?

This XTURISMO hoverbike utilizes two large central rotors backed by a 228 hp gas-powered Kawasaki motorcycle performance engine for thrust. Together with the main rotors, four smaller electric support rotors are also available on the motorcycle’s edges present on the outer side for maintaining stability.

At present, the hoverbike’s body which is a lightweight carbon fiber body weighs only 299 kg and appears to be 12 feet long. It also features an automatic control unit developed and designed to enhance safety.

Price and Availability

The XTURISMO hoverbike is expensive obviously because it is a flying bike that costs 777,000 USD which is roughly 6 crores INR. It is on sale in Japan already. Since Japan has strict rules for these vehicles so the bike is only allowed to fly over racetracks.

Despite that, Shuhei Komatsu, CEO, and founder of AERWINS stated that the firm is planning to sell a bit small version of this bike in 2023 in the United States. He also said that the firm is trying to cut down the bike’s cost to 50,000 USD for a small, electric model but it will take about 2-3 years for it to be ready. It will probably be ready by 2025.

Ethereum gets greener after completing The Merge

In today’s era, a rising number of firms worldwide are using many digital assets like bitcoin, Ethereum, etc. for operational and transactional purposes as it provides inexpensive and quicker money transfers and consists of decentralized systems which do not disintegrate at a single point of failure. Also, it is more secure, self-governed, and highly managed.

The world’s second most valuable and lucrative cryptocurrency Ethereum has finished a massive software upgrade that its promotors claim will reduce its carbon footprint.

According to a report by Ethereum Foundation, the much-anticipated overhaul which is known as “The Merge”, will decrease the energy consumption of Ethereum by almost 99.95%. This foundation is a non-profit organization devoted to providing support for cryptocurrency and its related technologies.

“The Merge refers to the original Ethereum Mainnet merging with a separate … blockchain called the Beacon Chain,” the organization stated.
“Happy merge all,” Vitalik Buterin, the 28-year-old Russian-Canadian programmer who helped create Ethereum said on Twitter. “This is a big moment for the Ethereum ecosystem. Everyone who helped make the merge happen should feel very proud today,” he added.
“It’s been a long time in the making and the question on traders’ lips right now is will it be the next bullish catalyst for cryptos or a “sell the fact” event,” a senior market analyst at Oanda, Craig Erlam, wrote in a note on Thursday.
Ethereum expects with this switch, that it “will improve security, reduce energy consumption, increase the number of users on the network, and grow its market cap,” Marion Laboure, Deutsche Bank research analyst wrote in a note this week.

After the news of this upgradation, Ethereum was down by 0.7 percent trading at 1,592.78 USD but analysts claim that this upgrade could have a great impact on the crypto industry in the long run. The renowned and greatly accustomed American Video Streaming platform, Netflix, declared on Monday, 12 September 2020, that it is partnering up with Ubisoft, a French video game firm, to introduce three exclusive mobile games to its platform initiating in next year, 2023.

The popular streaming giant is eager to integrate smartphone games into its ecosystem and is providing several casual mobile games on its mobile application already. Also, it has no plans to abandon its game division any time soon, even though it was not successful in attracting a large no of audience of gamers. The French video game firm, Ubisoft declared its partnership with the Netflix during Ubisoft Forward 2022 event. It stated that they will be working on three games that will expand on Mighty Quest, The Valiant Hearts, and Assassin’s Creed universes. These games will be exclusively available on mobile only to Netflix members across the globe together with no ads and in-app purchases.

Talking about the mobile game partnership, Netflix’s Vice President of Games, Mike Verdu, said, “We’re thrilled to work with Ubisoft, whose track record creating memorable worlds for fans is unmatched. This partnership will provide our members with exclusive access to some of the most exciting game franchises as we continue to build a catalog of great mobile games for our members around the world.”

At present time, WhatsApp is also developing a new feature. Using this the WhatsApp users will be able to search for the messages in the chat according to the date they were sent. Users can swiftly go to a particular date to read messages from that time. This feature will be useful when the users want to find out which messages were sent on a specific date.

The instant messaging app Meta-owned WhatsApp is always working on different technologies to enhance the user experience by developing and integrating new features like the ability to react to a particular message using emojis, the feature to mute specific people on voice calls, and much more.

According to a report by WaBetaInfo, it is still working to make it possible for users to search messages by date. The feature was initially found in 2020 by WaBetaInfo. However, at that time they did not make it available to the public after discarding the development. WhatsApp is planning to put this feature again after the test flight update is received for the WhatsApp beta (iOS 22.0.19.73).

“After releasing the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.0.19.73 update from TestFlight, we discovered that WhatsApp is finally planning to release the feature in the future again,” the report stated.

How will the WhatsApp “search by date” feature work?

While developers are still working on this feature, however, when it would be completed, WhatsApp users will see a new calendar icon on the left side of the screen when tap on the search button to search for a message in the chat. Users can quickly get to a particular date and read all the messages from that specific date with the help of a calendar icon.

By clicking on the calendar icon, they can set the date according to their needs and see the chats. Also, they can get rid of the date view by just scrolling through the chat. This feature will help out in extracting messages or media from a certain date. Currently, since it is not available to the public because it is incomplete, users can search for messages only using keywords. This is your old search feature.

The search feature enables WhatsApp users to search for chats using a keyword. Here are the steps involved:

Open your WhatsApp application.
Tap on the burger menu in the top right corner of your screen.
You will see the Search option showing up among others, click on it.
Enter the keyword of your chat you want to search and you’ll get your messages with that keyword to appear on the screen.

Apart from this, WhatsApp is also working on developing a new feature that would let the user send the message to himself while using the desktop version and also, the survey feature. In this WhatsApp survey feature, users can fill out various surveys about the latest products, innovative services, app reviews, and much more after receiving an invitation. It will bring a verified chat to send invitations for surveys.

It is not decided yet when these features will be available to the public, but soon users will be able to test these in the beta version of WhatsApp.
