Microsoft bans cryptocurrency mining on cloud services

According to the media, Microsoft has prohibited cryptocurrency mining from using its internet services in order to protect its cloud users.

Cryptocurrency mining can disrupt or even impair Online Services and its users, and is often associated with unauthorized access to and use of customer accounts.

Microsoft made this change to protect their customers and mitigate the risk of disrupting or impairing services in the Microsoft Cloud.

Cryptocurrency cloud mining enables users to mine without the need for additional hardware or equipment.

Microsoft cloud computing systems have experienced storage issues in recent years as a result of constraints in the ongoing supply chain.

The cryptocurrency mining malware known as “LemonDuck” is propagated by phishing emails, vulnerabilities etc.

Microsoft issued a warning to users about this cryptocurrency mining malware last year.

Crypto mining is likewise not permitted during the 12-month free trial of Amazon’s AWS.
