In India, Microsoft has released the Surface Pro 8 and Surface Pro 7+. Both will be available in the country on February 15, though the latter has been technically available since February of last year, but only for commercial and educational customers. As a successor to Microsoft’s older Surface Pro 7 offering, the Surface Pro 8 was unveiled in September 2021 at the company’s hardware-focused event, with the company claiming that it delivers twice the performance of its predecessor. The Surface Pro 8 is Microsoft’s most powerful Intel Evo certified Pro tablet to date, with 11th Gen Intel Core processors and Windows 11, and a claimed battery life of up to 16 hours.
Microsoft Surface Pro 8: Specifications
The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 was announced on September 22, 2021, and it is powered by 11th-generation Intel Core processors and is built on the Intel Evo platform for ultra-slim devices. The Surface Pro 8 is more than twice as fast as the Surface Pro 7 and has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, according to Microsoft. The Surface Pro 8 will be available with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage in a Wi-Fi model. It will also come in an LTE version with up to 17GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The Surface Pro 8 has a 13-inch PixelSense touch display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 2880×1920 pixels. It has a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls and a 10-megapixel back camera with 4K video support. The new Surface Pro Signature Keyboard, which also houses (and charges) the Surface Slim Pen 2, is included with the Surface Pro 8. According to Microsoft, the Surface Pro 8 has a battery life of 16 hours. On the Wi-Fi model, it has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. The LTE version, on the other hand, includes a SIM card slot.
Microsoft Surface Pro 7+: Specifications
Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7+ is equipped with 11th Gen Intel Core processors paired with up to 32GB of RAM on the Wi-Fi variant and up to 16GB of RAM on the LTE variant for customers who do not want to spend the money on the company’s most powerful Surface Pro. The Core i3 model of the Surface Pro 7+ came with Intel UHD graphics, while the Core i5 and Core i7 models came with Intel Iris Xe graphics.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ has a 12.3-inch PixelSense touch display with a pixel density of 267ppi and a resolution of 2,736×1,824 pixels. The Wi-Fi-only model has up to 1TB of “removable” SSD storage, while the LTE model has up to 256GB of storage. The Surface Pro 7+ has a 5-megapixel front camera that supports full-HD video calls and an 8-megapixel rear camera that supports 1080p full-HD video recording. On the Wi-Fi model, it has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and USB Type-A ports, as well as a microSD card reader and the Surface Connect charging port. The LTE version, on the other hand, includes a SIM card slot.
Price and Availability
Starting today, authorized commercial resellers, authorized retail partners, and online shopping websites Flipkart and Amazon are taking pre-orders for the Surface Pro 8. The Surface Pro 8 has a starting price of Rs 1,04,999, but the price will vary depending on whether it is a commercial or consumer unit. There are up to 13 SKUs for commercial customers, but only three SKUs for regular customers, starting at Rs 1,15,999.
