Samsung unveiled a slew of new products at a virtual Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event on Wednesday. The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, two new smartphones from the South Korean tech giant, mark the beginning of a new era in foldable innovation. They’re both high-end foldable with top-of-the-line craftsmanship and features. Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 offer users a unique new way to work, watch, and play. A smartwatch and earbuds, Galaxy Buds2, and Galaxy Watch4 were also unveiled by Samsung.
It’s the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Samsung introduces stylus support on a flexible display smartphone for the first time. Earlier Samsung foldable phones had creases in their displays where the phone is folded. Now that Samsung is offering stylus support, we can expect the display to be more durable than it was before.
No new Galaxy Note devices are expected to be released by Samsung this year, and it is expected that the Z Fold series will eventually replace the Note series as the most productive device available.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: Specifications
An HD+ Dynamic AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate graces the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s 6.2-inch display panel. Please take note that the cover display is what you will see if you fold the device. All tasks can be carried out on this glass-covered display. A 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED main display with a 120Hz refresh rate will be revealed when you unfold the device. There’s a selfie camera hidden underneath this main display, and that’s what makes it so cool!
Although the design and form factor is similar to that of the previous Fold device, Samsung claims that the ‘Armor Aluminum’ frame used in this device is the toughest aluminum frame ever used in a phone. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection and IPX8 water resistance, which are both standard features.
A total of five cameras will be included in this device: three on its back, one under the main display, and one on the cover display. With a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor with F2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel autofocus primary sensor with F1.8 aperture, and an additional 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with F2.4 aperture, the triple rear camera module has it all. HDR10+ video recording and a 2X optical zoom are included along with 10X digital zoom.
A 10MP selfie camera with an F2.2 aperture will appear on the cover display when you fold the device. It has a 4MP sensor and an F18 aperture. The phone has a 5nm 64-bit octa-core chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. It’s powered by a 4,400mAh battery and runs Android 11.
Face or fingerprint locks are supported for security, and it’s a 5G-enabled phone. Black, green, and silver colors will be available on the phone’s casing.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3: Specifications
In the near future, Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Z Flip 3. There are a few design changes despite the fact that the form factor hasn’t changed at all! First, the cover display is now larger, and the cameras have been repositioned from horizontal to vertical positions instead of horizontal to vertical orientations. In addition to being IPX8 water-resistant, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus is used to protect the phone. Even the Z Flip 3 has the same Armor Aluminum frame. Cameras consist of a 12MP wide sensor with an F1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, and autofocus, along with a 12MP ultrawide sensor with an F2.2 aperture. The main display has a 10MP selfie camera with an F2.4 aperture housed inside the display.
8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage power the device. It is powered by a 3,300mAh battery and runs Android 11. Another 5G-capable smartphone. Security features include face unlock and fingerprint recognition.
Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in seven different colors: Black, Cream, Pink, Gray, Green, Lavender, and White.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3: Price And Availability
It costs $1,799.99 for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and $999.99 for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Prices for the Galaxy Buds 2 will start at $149.99 when they hit the market. It will go on sale on August 27 in select markets, including the U.S., Europe, and Korea, and will be available for pre-order on August 11. A year of Samsung Care+ protection is included with pre-orders of the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3. This includes coverage for screen replacement and water damage.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2
Active noise cancellation and three microphones are included in the Galaxy Buds 2 TWS to improve call quality. In addition to the new equalizer settings, Samsung is utilizing machine learning to filter out unwanted noise. There is a five-hour battery life claim for the device and a 15-hour battery life claim for the case.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
According to Samsung, the BioActive Sensor is a 3-in-1 sensor that uses one chip to precisely run three health sensors: optical heart rate, electrical heart rate, and bioelectrical impedance analysis. Galaxy 4 series will be able to monitor blood pressure, detect irregular heartbeats, and measure blood oxygen levels thanks to this sensor.
Also, the smartwatches have the ability to measure the user’s Body Composition, which includes key measurements such as skeletal muscle, basal metabolic rate, and body water and fat percentage.
